"Bigger. Bolder. Better!" It feels like every year I say this about the coming year - but boy is it true of this year! With the launch of our Gallery and artist spaces, and the relocation of our Box Office and addition of a retail space, we're definitely set for a bumper 2024.
We're welcoming back some old favourites for Act One of our 2024 Season. The razor-sharp wit of THE WHARF REVUE returns in February with PRIDE IN PREJUDICE, a brand new show brimming with biting satire - rest assured, no politician will be spared! Perennial favourite MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL ROADSHOW brings the best of the 2024 festival to our stage in time for the June long weekend.
Local legend BRIAN CASTLES-ONION makes a triumphant return in March with AN AFTERNOON AT THE OPERA, a special matinee filled with song and story featuring three of Australia’s brightest operatic talents. For lovers of dance, we'll be welcoming the colder weather with THE SNOW QUEEN from VICTORIAN STATE BALLET in June.
I'm so excited to have COLIN LANE and DAVID HOBSON bringing their hilarious show IN TAILS our way in June also - get set to see what happens when a comedian and an opera singer’s worlds collide! THE ROBERTSON BROTHERS 1960'S VARIETY TV SHOW is back in February for a night of classic hits and cheeky fun - their shows always sell out quickly so get in early! And a line-up of Aussie music pioneers head our way in March with THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF ROCK N ROLL.
If you haven't already visited our gallery, I invite you to come along and see for yourself what a great asset to the Arts in our community this space is - you can find out more on page 32. Welcome to 2024, get set for a year that's BIGGER, BOLDER AND BETTER THAN EVER!
