Nicole Chaffey’s latest exhibition presents a compelling exploration of identity, memory, and the Australian landscape. As a Biripi woman and Newcastle-based artist, Chaffey’s practice is deeply rooted in her connection to Country and ancestral narratives. Her works often delve into personal and collective histories, offering a nuanced perspective on the interwoven nature of past and present.

Chaffey’s work is characterized by its introspective quality, often reflecting on the resilience of women and the enduring impact of historical events on contemporary identity. Through her art, she creates a dialogue between the viewer and the subject matter, encouraging contemplation and a deeper understanding of the narratives that shape our world.

This exhibition at PACC offers an opportunity to experience Chaffey’s evolving practice and her continued commitment to exploring the intersections of personal history, cultural identity, and the Australian environment.
