ART FOR KIDS @ PACC is a new collaboration between PACC and Wild Learning, created to bring inspiring, hands-on creative learning to young people in the Cessnock community. This term-long after-school program invites children into the gallery each week to explore art, build real skills and enjoy the fun of making things in a creative, welcoming space.
Each session begins with time in the exhibition gallery space, where students look closely at artworks and create quick sketches in response to what they discover. Back in the studio, they take part in structured lessons that introduce core art techniques - including drawing, watercolour, acrylic painting and mixed media.
The lessons are designed to balance skill-building with creative freedom. Children learn how to use materials properly, but they are also encouraged to experiment, make choices and create artwork that looks uniquely theirs. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and encouraging, giving young artists the confidence to try new ideas and enjoy the creative process.
This program is perfect for children who love art, enjoy exploring materials or want to grow their creative abilities in a fun and supportive environment. Students will learn real skills, meet new friends, and experience the excitement of making art inside our beautiful and inspiring gallery.
