A group exhibition, curated by Doug Heslop, brings together a diverse selection of contemporary artists exploring critical and experimental approaches to art-making. Heslop’s curatorial lens emphasizes thoughtful, concept-driven practices and encourages artists to explore material, form, and narrative in ways that provoke reflection and conversation. The exhibition aims to create a platform for critical discourse.
Doug Heslop’s career spans more than three decades and his practice is marked by bold experimentation across painting, sculpture, installation, and performance. After training at the National Art School, Heslop won a scholarship to London, where he completed honours, organised artist-run spaces, and worked with ArtAngel UK. Returning to Australia, he immersed himself in Melbourne’s experimental art and music scenes, earned a Master of Visual Art from VCA before settling in Newcastle.
