With a career steeped in artistic exploration, Michael Bell has left an indelible mark on the art world. Over 40 years, he has passionately crafted and exhibited artworks that resonate with depth and innovation. International recognition has also adorned Bell's career. Honoured with The Cite Internationale des Arts visual artist studio in Paris, France, in both 2007 and 2011, he expanded his artistic horizons on a global scale. Notably, his participation in The Hua Hin Contemporary International Artist Residency in Thailand, among artists from diverse cultural backgrounds, added rich layers to his artistic narrative.

Bell's accolades culminated in winning The Kilgour Prize for figurative painting in 2020, held at The Newcastle Art Gallery. His contributions to the art world have led to his works being proudly held in prestigious collections, including The Australian National Gallery Canberra, The National Library of Australia Canberra, Newcastle Art Gallery, Muswellbrook Art Gallery, Maitland Regional Art Gallery, and Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery.
