NAIDOC WEEK FREE FILM: Top End Wedding

As part of NAIDOC Week 2023, join us for a FREE screening of the hit 2019 film Top End Wedding.

Top End Wedding is a 2019 Australian romantic comedy film directed by Wayne Blair.

It tells the story of successful Sydney lawyer Lauren, played by Miranda Tapsell (The Sapphires, Love Child), and her fiancée Ned played by British actor Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody, Jamestown, The Hollow Crown). Lauren is planning to wed her fiancé in her hometown, only to discover that her mother has abruptly left the family. The couple has just ten days to find Lauren’s mother in the Northern Territory, reunite her parents and pull off their dream wedding.

Joining the leading actors are a stellar ensemble cast including AACTA Award nominee Kerry Fox (Bright Star, Cloud Street), Ursula Yovich (The Code, Around The Block, Australia), Shari Sebbens (Thor: Ragnarok, The Sapphires, Redfern Now), Huw Higginson (Janet King, A Place To Call Home, The Bill) and Elaine Crombie (Top of The Lake, Redfern Now, Black Comedy).

The film premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival in Utah and was released in Australian cinemas in May 2019. Top End Wedding showcases extraordinary landscapes and beautiful locations. Along with Adelaide, the shooting locations include the Top End’s seldom seen Tiwi Islands, as well as Kakadu, Katherine and Darwin.
